has anyone else not got the google chat thing? where in your email account you can instant message people in your contacts? all my mates have it and i dont

They haven't rolled it out to everybody yet. I got it a week and a half before my friends (for the most part) did. I guess all you can do is wait.

It only appeared on my account last week and my friends who hadn't had accounts as long as me already had it. Just a case of wait till they get to upgrading you.

GMail feature rollouts are always rather confusing.

Have you tried changing your GMail settings to en-US? Apparently that speeds the process up a bit

Methinks that's if you want your Google Talk chats logs' stored in your gmail account. I've never used Google Talk but I talked to a mate through gmail this very morning.

I didn't need to do that, it just works through my Gmail inbox.

Yeah i've only got it on one account though too! Gmail never roll anything out straight forward

Changing language to English (US) just activated it for me
