GMAIL - ridiculous?

Hi all, recently my search function in my gmail has become beyond a joke, usualy it just lists almost all of my emails even if they dont contain the phrase i enter?

If not, then I don't have a clue. I also had problems with it some months ago, but after a few days it worked fine again. The reason is unclear to me.

Not sure if it has started searching the contents of attachments - this seems to have happened to me recently. They really need to fix the search function - not having wildcards really limits its usefulness

It's really slow for me, but seems to return the right results.
