How good is it? Are there ever any false positives?

I'd say it's caught about 95% or more of the spam that's come to my inbox. It's certainly better than hotmails, but then again that isn't too hard to achieve

the best i've ever seen

nothing goes into spam that should be in my inbox,

about 1 message a week max goes into inbox that should be spam

i only get spam from signing up to forums

Ah that's good as I just delete the spam (just presumed that it was accurate!).

if you use firefox

customizegoogle can hide the spam counter (and googleads) aswell as tons of other google things

I agree with bledd, the gmail spam filter is fantastic. I've never had any unsolicited mail in my inbox and any mail that should be in my inbox in the spam folder.

i have occasionally had mail that should be in my inbox go into my spam, but this is only stuff from websites - no personal email.

I have a gmail account for which i use for forums, gamespot, etc(i use another for stuff i dont want people to know about); i get so much spam and the gmail filter gets most of it, i get like 100 spam emails a day and 1 slips through every few months or so.
