Gmail wont sync

My Nexus S has all of a sudden stopped receiving gmail emails, im getting them fine on the pc but no matter what i do i cant seem to pick them up on the phone, it says its synced up. Do i have to delete the account and re-add it for this to stop?

both, doesnt make any difference - looking at the forums around and it seems to be a massive problem related to the latest gingerbread update
