Hi,

Just to let people know ,the new version of Gnome-Do 0.8 was just released yesterday, I personally can't live without Gnome-Do these days :p. It's better than ever and the new docky theme is just amazing! As always it can be completely customized.

anything changed from last year? Didnt get on with it then but will try t again if its changed

It's definitely more responsive than any version I have had to date, theres some more themes like docky which is the one I'm using, the docky theme has the osx dock like animation which is nice and smooth :) and you can set your color of each theme.

Theres also a few more plugins, theres a microblogging one which I'm using that is pretty neat. It connects with twitter and identi.ca. You just hit super + space, type in your post and hit enter and it also gives you a notification back when its done.

Does it require compositing like AWN does?

As far as I'm aware it doesn't require compositing, but you will only get the transparency if it's on. I was going through some of the answers in launchpad and it seems that way.
