Trying to get the gnome stay in the car on Half life 2 episode 2 but he keeps flying out

I have tired looking at some guides but the little feller keeps bailing out of the car any ideas ?

No lol you can carry the gnome to the end and launch him off into space, so fare he's been a pain in ass always slowing me down!

I managed to wedge him the back window he still falls out sometimes, but I just mavity gun his ass down the road.
