Hi everyone!

Question is pretty much what's in the title. Should I go for a 3900 non X now or wait for the 5900 non X?

I can get a 3900 and an MSI x470 Gaming Pro for about £425.

Any ideas what price and when the 5900 is to be released?

Any thoughts/advice/info etc appreciated please.

Thanks!

How much better are the 5 series v 3 series ?

A bit of gaming and 3d rendering. Other stuffs too. I know the whole gaming Vs rendering argument for the core count.

Main point is that you could get a 3600x and mb for about say 260/80 so the 3900 bundle seems to be good value for money. Now these bundles have been out for a few months. You could get a 3900 and MSI b450 tomahawk for £420 in March '20. So I'm wondering if there will be similarly priced deals when the 5900 lands. I'm not in a really big rush so could wait a bit, say if they were to come out Q1 I could wait as it may be worth it. The other thought is that the 3900 bundles haven't shifted down in price since they've been launched so could it be that they come down in price soon?

Decisions decisions.. lol. Thanks

depend on how much rendering you do. zen 3 is meant to be 20-30% faster in these multithreaded workload. so if you do a lot of rendering then ask your self, 20% is how many minutes saved. what do i value these time being - can i do more productive work or am i happy for the computer to be chugging away and i wait for it.

gaming extra 10%-15% frames - it is your opinion if you need it or not.
