With the mad prices of 290x's and 780ti's lately do I bite the bullet and go for it or stick with 7950's ?
I am sorely tempted by the MSI Lightnings or do I switch allegiance and try the 970's ?
Space and power isn't an issue for the Lightnings.
The 256bit bus on the 970's concerns me but that is rooted back in the days when I had 5770's which had a 128 bit bus and reviews said that hold's them back.

@80-120 in BF4 on one card with most settings turned down.
I havnt tried the second card as I don't have room for it in this pc.
The plan was to transfer both to a new 4770 build I have just finished.
I know the Lightnings in xfire are probably overkill for 1080 but they should easily cope for a number of years, are a good price at the moment and look the nuts :D

I thought the 256 bus would be a issue also, but it's not at all. Infact it's way different on maxwell. If your not playing 4k then go for 970.

Your 7950's will be alright for a while yet, i'd wait it out until next gen.

I probably will, however those Lightnings are very tempting and to get a deal like that I would have to wait until the gen after next if you get my drift.

I have no real allegiance to either brand, having owned both in the past.
The memory bus probably isn't a real issue, just a perception I have, what is worrying me about the 970 is the growing coil whine issue.
