After some recent difficulties i now have my sandybridge and memory actively cooled and my system now appears to once again be stable.....touchwood.

however im wondering if it will see any further performance increases if i say try to go for 4.2ghz?

Im watercooled on my CPU and temps currently dont go over 60oC after hours of gaming.

Could you post your full system details as well as the settings you are using currently.

cpu in sig an i7 950

Asus Gene III
Corsair 1866mhz RAM

i dont think my memory is running at its rated timings.........its all set to auto.....would that get some performance?

i7 950 is not a sandy bridge lol.
Anyway, what voltage are you running on the cpu? Heat is not the only problem when overclocking but also voltage (no pun intended)

What cooler do you have?

What are your overclocking settings, 1.35v seems rather high for 4.ghz!

I have mine at 1.28 and its fine.

isnt stable at anything below 1.31v @ 4ghz

got both fans on H70.

Temps never go above 60oC, my case has poor ventilation, its one of those silent Lian Li jobbies.

Possibly problems with my voltage settings elsewhere?
