Going to Ocuk tomorow and i just cant decide if i should get a new mobo while im there as im pretty dissapointed by the overclocking performance of my current board.

Really torn between the P5B non beluxe or the DS3. Am i guaranteed 3Ghz at least with one of those boards? Cant get stable past 2.6Ghz at the mo

Get the DS3 I was impressed with its stabilty and clocks.

The P5B is good but I think the delux is better

For the price the DS3 cant be beaten right now IMO

The DS3 won't let you run any at less than 1:1.

Not really a bad thing, the Intel platform is bandwidth limited, if you use a divider you'll end up with with a performance drop despite the extra cpu clockspeed you may achieve. (i think :p)

Telll that to devious,

He may well disagree

Well its all installed and working.

Now, lets try a bit of clocking :D

Am i better using the BIOS for clocking or the easytune utility?

Yeah ive got it at 700Mhz and its quite happy.

Ive had a look on Ocuk and most of the 1gb kits of the 800Mhz ram is out of stock.

Cant really afford 2Gb at the mo, so was hoping to flog what i have and put a few quid to it for the faster stuff

Well im now priming it at 2.99Ghz, 374x8. RAM 1:1 on 1.9v 5-5-5-12.

Wouldnt boot at 375FSB.

Rock solid - very pleased :)

Why's that?

@mr meatloaf, nice clock, not much point in going much higher tbh unless you do a lot of encoding or folding, 3ghz is more than enough for gaming. (or 2.99ghz - that would **** me right off) On second thoughts try 5-5-5-15 & 2v & +0.1v on GMCH? :)
