Ive always been a fan of iPods and Apple design. I frankly love the whole clean, clinical style they have going.

Ive been using an iPod mini for some time, basically since they were launched and its losing its life a little. Its time for an upgrade i feel, considering i havnt gone nano and kinda stepped around that boat.

So, iPod Touch.. as far as i see its iPhone, which i dislike due to the silly phone capabilities they have used.. but without that phone rubbish. Plus i dont need a phone, i need an mp3 player, but the wifi and applications is intriguing.

How useful really is the wifi, is it actually worth having, and how close can the iPod Touch be to my organiser (i dont have a PDA, but i could use one)? Can you cache internet pages such as my iGoogle to do list? I like the idea of having everything in one device, which could mean a PDA is a better option.

And basically, with this in mind, should i stick to just an mp3 player and go for a nano, or if we go entirely the other way, would one of these PDAs that does everything from music to SatNav be more up my street?

Any help is much appreciated.

Naturally after running to the forums ive done some of my own research. Ive just stumbled onto the whole smartphone thing, but ive decided thats not the route i want just at the moment.

Are we developing third party apps for the iPod touch yet? Ive heard a lot about them being cracked, which i imagine we arnt allowed to discuss on here. So if you dont mind i might thrown you onto my msn. edit: you dont appear to use msn?!

edit: More research and more knowledge, http://www.pocketpicks.co.uk/latest...oneipod-touch-third-party-apps-the-aftermath/ it seems Apple are allowing third party apps?!

Interesting, if you get one we would like some images of some of the features and a review of how you like it! in detail :P
Im fairly sure some of the chaps already have them here. Although if i do get one i will really be looking to stretch its functionality, possibly to the point of writing my own apps, if that is possible.
