Go-Pro HERO4 Session

Much better and flexible mounting options (some of which come with it), waterproof, slightly better battery life and... comes with stickers (maybe)!!

The other option is the £99 Go-Pro which gives you all the above, without the compact size though.

Yeah I know those but polaroid has a tripod adaptor so you can bodge together a go-pro compatible mount! Which gives you access to all the accessories, guess what I'm saying is that yeah, those are great but not £229 extra great :) it will come down in price but unless it gets below £200 I have no interest in it.

Love the new small size but with Go pro 3/4 hero's 2nd hand for next to no money now, that's the best option I think for now.

From what I've seen of them, the image quality from the session isn't up to the 3/4 models - also built in battery is a bummer. One of the advantages of the 3/4 was the fact you can get spare batteries and switch them when required etc.

Great idea in principal but needs a bit of evolution to be great

Contour ROAM2 for under £90, waterproof, tiny compared to the older Go Pros, good video quality.
Most importantly I don't look like I've got a 2nd head growing from my helmet.

Unless you're filming for hours on end, you can just carry a USB battery and recharge it as when required.

I'm off to the bahamas in November for a couple of weeks of sailing. Looking to get something like a session or basic go pro for underwater photos and video.

Is a viewfinder, LCD or otherwise, for this sort of thing pretty important?

I watched a review and the image quality of the HERO Session is quite a bit worse than the Hero4 Silver.

The smaller size is appealing, along with more flexibility for mounting it (don't need a right angle adapter for side helmet mount etc). However I would still rather have the better image quality
