I've never been a fan of the racing game genre but I've really fallen in love with this game. Distance is without doubt the best powered vehicle game ever!

I remember games like this for the N64 way back when and I'm sure people will argue that the Need for Speed series is king of the crop but there is something really special about this game. In the developers own words...

It's a survival racing game that combines the intense action of arcade racing with the exploration of an atmospheric world. You control a unique car that allows you to boost, jump, rotate, and even fly through a chaotic and mysterious city.

Apparently the game is "a spiritual successor to the multi-award winning Nitronic Rush", did anyone play it? I missed it for some reason :(

Let me just blow Refracts (the developers) trumpet a bit more. The music to this game is awesome. There's a beat in the rhythm that gives the illusion of going fast, pumps the adrenaline and creates that need to survive, the age old fight or flight. As the enemy is the environment in this game your only option is to survive.

Definitely reminiscent of Wipeout! Reminds me of a mix between that and trackmania!

Can see it doing well with full workshop support too!

Oh I've been sliced in half loads of times. Once I was sliced in half but slide through a green regeneration ring and was fully restored to go on to finish the level :D

I recommend this game to anyone looking for something exciting and fast paced. However if you're prone to epileptic fits then stay clear this is TRON on acid!
