"Go to" budget PSU?

Hi All,
I've retrieved parts from a relatives old computer and I want to put something together for another family member.
So I'm looking for a cheap and cheerful PSU. Not scared of the lesser known brands. There is nothing special in the machine, it will play games but not the modern ones and certainly nothing required to power large graphics cards.
Your recommendations greatly received.

It's really difficult to recommend a psu when we don't know what it has to power so more information would be nice. Saying that, these should be ok for a low end system with little or no overclocking and a low end gpu:-

Yer, sorry - I didn't really give a lot of information.
It's an old Asus P5ES Deluxe motherboard - so some CPU based on S775. Not looking to overclock.
GPU wise - a quick glance and I see it's an old ATI HD6450.
So with that combination I'm guessing all will be fine with the recommendations above?

Either of those will be fine. The 400w has a 360w 12v rail and the 500w has a 480w 12v rail.
