I have £3,000 ready in the savings account for a new TV but the technology is 2 years away for me yet.
Out of interest, what improvements are you waiting on?
Yeah, saw these last year. Quite incredible.

Screen is gorgeous but is a step backwards IMHO.
Being forced to have a soundbar underneath is not progress.
If they did it so that you could just have the screen and link to my existing amp and separates then fine, but being forced to have a soundbar when I don't need it, and have no where to put it, is not what I would say is progress.
well it has to be OLED no question. Moved from a plasma to an LED a few years ago and bloody hate the thing. Friend has an OLED which is stunning.
The day I lump £3k on a TV it has to have the majority of the issues resolved.....having an agreed HDR standard which OLED can fully match and support would be a start.
This years models look very promising, so I'm likely to hit the button next year so long as there aren't any glaring issues between now and then.
No idea what BBC are doing, but I will be following them closely. I'm not sold on samsungs claims regarding the next gen quantum dot tvs, but I've not totally written them off.
BBC are doing HLG which most if not all will support this year, the LG looks to support all 4 types currently out, so DV HLD HDR10 and Technicolor HDR
The W Oled looks stunning but as it's combined with the Dolby Atmos soundbar i would imagine it be quite pricey.
I will be nice to see reviews of Sony's Lg's and Panasonic's models this year and how they compare to the Qled.
sounds good to me, that money is burning a hole in my pocket![]()
Just seen a video from AVF interviewing the LG uk guy and he has said peak brightness is 1000 nit's on this years range which sounds impressive.
Samsung claim 1500 this year, but I'd still rather have OLED
