Thanks to HoodRide, my new desktop at work is this.

Check the stance...The wheels...The tyres...The bumpers...The pinstriping over the lights...the spats on the rear arches...

...Then check out the flames.

Awesome.

Just awesome.

Rust is beautiful, the texture and variation of colouring always enchants me.

I can see what your talking about *n

Thanks, dude.

To me, you can see a life in that car...It looks like it lived through the fifties as a rod then got rolled into a garage, already painted with flames...Then, 50 years later, someone found it, rolled it back out, sorted the suspension, stoppers, rims, tyres, engine and a couple of bits of brightwork and hit the street/strip.

That car has a history you can see and feel; nut and bolt restorations never will.

Cool, but what do they use to stop the rust from just eating it alive?

Ankhor wax - it leaves the car feeling 'sticky' ( :/ ) but it stops any progression of rust - the aircooled dub boys in the UK use it to preserve patina and halt any further rust and it works.

That...With a completely solid tubeframe chassis/integral rollcage...Radiator propped up at the front on brace bars and a big block V8 on open headers and quad carbs, big steels (in matte black) with high-profile whitewalls and plenty of rake...

Win.

Looks great mate.

And dont you dare give in to this rabble and stop posting these fantastic threads! :D

There's a guy on Retro Rides with a 2-door Nova saloon running a 2.0 8v lump.

It's sprayed matte black and has moon discs with whitewall flaps, a bench front seat with a mexican blanket on it and, in graff-style writing on the trailing edge of the boot "****ALLTHEHATERS!"

Awesome attitude.

/drexel, still fighting the urge to take a can of matt black to the rex.......;)

Lose the lights and the stickers, spray it matte black on black rims with a polished lip and I could forgive you the irony board.
