A select few have seen actual GOW3 gameplay it seems.

In the latest HotSpot podcast -from GameSpot- , numerous sources reported that "the level of realism as far as the graphics go in God of War 3" looks very close to the CG teaser. They actually said it is looking like Beowulf the movie. The discussion lasts 59 minutes.

I don't believe that either, if they have actual footage why didn't they show it

Why did Sony show the most impressive game at the show (according to those who saw it), Heavy rain, behind closed doors? Why did MS pull the Bungie announcement? I guess its because there are plenty of other shows this year and they're not quite in a state to show to public? MS did the same thing with the GOW2 teaser this year at GDC, insomniac did the same earlier this year with res 2. Teaser trailers are just that a tease, to make you wanting more.

I would believe that if sony had other big things to show off. But they didn't.

I would not be that surprised if GOW3 turns out to be the most advanced game on the PS3. Just look at the PS2 games. Easily the best looking games on the console by far (even puts some early 360 and PS3 games to shame), running at a fluid 60 frames per second. Their technical prowess was displayed for all to see.

Why wouldn't it be out of the question?

I don't think its out of the question, its just i've heard too much sony BS to believe they could have shown it yet didn't. You have to admit it was a poor showing at E3.

I've no doubt it is going to be an amazing game.

It wouldn't surprise me - look at what they managed to do with the ancient PS2 when they made God of War 2 for example. With the much faster PS3 we should see a huge improvement

After playing the PSP version, it wouldn't surprise me if they managed something stunning with the PS3 version.

Vin.

God of War 2 was a very nice looking game for a PS2 game, I expect no less from God of War 3. That said, I think at this early stage that would be pre-rendered. I'll wait 'till I see gameplay footage before I pass judgement.
