A heads up about this if you don't know already.

GOG are a games download store that lovingly re-publishes old games and does some behind the scenes re-jigging to make a game compatible with latest systems.

GOG already sell games by notable publishers like Ubisoft (e.g. Far Cry) but they've just announced Activision have signed a contract with them...this is pretty major as Activision are one of the biggest game publishers in the world, publisher of the Call of Duty series etc.

This'll mean GOG will be bringing out plenty of older games from the IPs that Activision owns (e.g. they own Sierra), and possibly Call of Duty titles too (Modern Warfare 2 in 5 years time, anyone?!)

This news is important on a number of levels. Activision on board with a DRM free service will encourage other publishers to follow suit. It could also mean a general change in direction in the industry if more and more companies realise that DRM free games has more value and is more effective against piracy than any locks. :D
