Going back to WoW!

Hi guys,

feel like I need something to play, i've got bored of my Xbox for a little while and want to get back into WoW, I played it solid for about 4 months before going back to uni. I've got the discs here but they're from 2 years ago. Would I be better off just downloading the client off of the internet? (I remember all the dog-gone patching :( )

Another thing, as before, I'm worried about everyone just being lvl 60+ and then theres me.... lol

Anyone here just started fresh? or has the WoW train sailed?
 
hah funny, ive kinda got bored of my Xbox for the time being aswell (until Soul Caliber & GoW2) so im going to start wow again tonight :)

I would install the disks then upgrade.
 
I'm thinking of going on Ahn'Qiraj as one of my old friends I just found out still plays, he's got 4 lvl 70s :0 I wonder if I can still use my old char name? obviously the char has been deleted.

But the appeal of a new realm...!!!!

@Johno please? yeah I dont know why I havent touched my xbox for a couple of weeks! Have LOTRO and FF11 on the shelf but I never really got into them as much as WoW. (go on Ahn'Qiraj :D)

I just hated the people who blamed everything on you and called you stupid when I was genuinely new, everyone seemed to be using their alt.

You can play up to level 60 you wont be able to enter the 60-70 leveling areas and wont be able to make the 2 new races, everything else should be fine

LOL I guarantee you they were doing that when they were genuinely new too :p You probably didn't even do anything wrong - don't worry about them.

Yes you can re-use your old character name, as long as no-one else has taken it on that server in the mean time.
 
I'm just about to start fresh this tuesday (when it gets delivered :) ) - quit and sold my previous account just before 2.4 hit, so currently thinking of what class / battlegroup / realm to go. Whilst I still have a lot of good friends on my old gaff, it is an underpopulated realm on the worst battlegroup so just can't put myself through that :(.

Shame, a few months ago I was really intent on never playing WoW again... but after AoC, I realised all the things I did like about WoW, so this time all my previous built up negativity will be set aside and I will just concentrate on what I enjoy in the game.

True that, I'm also going to try and play less this time, an hr here and there or a good session at the weekend if the weathers crap.

I might play a Blood Elf warlock.

Im glad to see the new retail version is on a single DVD rather than 4 disks :D The manual has been shrunk aswell :eek:

Well everything updated.....and I cant remember my Username OR password :(

I'll be on the phone to them tomorrow. In the meantime I've used the 10 day trial key I got with the game 2 years ago, found that in my old realm 'Ahn'Qiraj' my char's name Dumblemon is unavailable, I guess my Char is actually still there? I hope so!!! I'm not enjoying Kobold grinding at the moment lol. I've created a char on Blades Edge for the meantime though...ahhh how the time whittles away when playing!

I never even got into raiding 2yrs ago, so I doubt I will this time. I hope hah.

Watching my mate sit with 20 other people talking for 30mins then getting really far 3hrs later then getting whooped didnt appeal.

I've just come out of raiding from a pretty hardcore raiding guild, was good fun but very time consuming, almost like having a part time job. If I were to raid again it would probably be a bit more casual, maybe 2-3 days a week.

Can still do good stuff in a couple of days if people put their minds to it :)

P.S I am playing in the WOTLK alpha atm, the death knight starting zone is sooo good, beats any zone I have ever played in! The rest of the zones are looking pretty polished as well so I can't see WOTLK being that far away!

i was in a raiding guild for two weeks. couldnt put up with the little hittle crap and went back to messing around for an hour at a time.
