Going back to WoW!

Something to bear in mind when picking a realm is the realm population. There's nothing like hitting level 50 and finding out you're on a Greek server.

A list can be found here.

Just dug up an old pic of the UI I made back in the day, gonna spend a few days throwing one together in the same look:

Taken from the post I made in my guilds forums at the time, I used these mods for anyone interested:
Bagnon - Condenses your bags into one, can view remotely what is in your bank on any of your characters.

Bartender3 - Awesome little action bars mod, very easy to use, can hide bars.

CyCircled - Plugin for Bartender3 (and other action bar mods), just adds that gloss effect to the buttons.

ClearFont2 - Changes all the fonts used in the games interface.

eePanels - Didn't really use this much when making my UI only for the fades under the chat and time.

ElkBuffBars - Really nice looking and easily customizable way to display your buffs / debuffs.

Pitbull - I reaaaally recommend this, I dropped AGUF and Grid for this mod, extremely customizable - a lot of polish on it, lots of nice little effects.

Simpleminimap - lets you move around resize your map, remove its icons etc etc.

Prat2.0 - Nice customization for your chat window(s).

SLTimex - The clock I have in the bottom corner, looks sexy! :>

All that is from around Feb/March though and I seem to remember that I swapped to using Bongos instead of Bartender (but might be the other way around), so i'm hoping that list of addons is still applicable and have all been updated since \o/

Spektor thats a very pretty UI, one of the best Ive seen.

I like it how you keep it minimalistic and maximise screen space for the actual game - so many UI's look cluttered but yours doesnt at all.

what realm are you on?

Al'Akir is my current realm, seem to be very active all across the board in terms of level's, although obviously there are a lot of Alt's but its an older game so what do you expect :)

Old Realm was Spinebreaker, seems dead to me, but maybe i need to venture my old Char to other place's.

that is my UI, looks messy but i use everything in it.

I'm a tank, so i need to keep my threat meters ect

Don't usualyl have the threat meter and raid frames up when not in raids, don't usually even have recount on, i use that for my lock/when i'm fury spec.

I prob could remove more mods, but i love it this way. My UI is about 100mb in a raid. And about 70mb normally.

EDIT:

This one was from Sunday evenings raid, and is quite funny, imho. 3rd Boss in MH, I go down as the tank - slacking healers :p and then they just nuke him, all die, but 1 palla uses Devine intervention, the NPCs kill the boss :p

I know it sounds stupid, but I have forgotten how to play my Paladin haha. :(

I'm struggling taking on a single mob the same level at me at the moment.

Best get learning again. :o

Funny how similar views people have. I too have been casual gaming on Xbox, Cod4 etc since I left WoW.

I played WoW from day 1 with my m8 and a few friends from Lineage 2. After about a year we quit. My game time was max 2 hours a night and basically couldn't do the higher end instances so never got to see MC etc so other than alt's the game was pretty dead (I was on PvE). Also on the 2 servers we used queues started to appear which got kinda dull fast.

When I left I had lvl 60 mage (undead), 27 Tauren Druid on Bloodhoof & 43 Human Priest on Emerald Dream. Anyone know if these servers are dead/mega busy or could recommend a server to transfer to (assuming my account still exists).

Recently I've been thinking about reinstalling and either continuing my Druid or starting afresh on a new server with maybe a Paladin/Hunter or Warlock. Be interesting to see what I've got left in stores as I'm pretty sure I gave loads away!!

I reinstalled at the weekend and loving it again, Not gonna play anywhere near as much this time probably just an hour or 2 a day and then a big session if i get some spare time.

You might enjoy it a bit more these days as end-game is a lot more casuall friendly in TBC than it used to be.

WoW got delivered but not TBC, so whilst waiting for that to arrive I have been playing around making a UI...

still a bit rough around the edges and tbh i'm not convinced... something about it seems off.

First off, the above picture, Org looks DEAD!

Second, the guy who did the first picture, that's not old school!!

This is old school

Naxx ain't old school.

This was taken around a month after AQ40 came out, not really old school but I don't have any Molten Core shots anymore... :(
