Going CrossFire

Im thinking in the next couple months i might formatt my computer so its all fresh. And i was thinking i might as well get a new motherboard. Im thinking of going crossfire but dont im not sure. Heres some questions that should help me if answered:
1.Is it me having crossfire using a vx922 that only supports 1280x1024 or will there be a huge increase in fps.
2. whats the best mobo you can buy

I have been sitting on the fence for ages regarding SLI and CrossFire.

I have just taken the plunge and have to say am delighted.
even at 1280x1024 you will be able to take advantage of Xfire. you will be able to set all the options to Max quality and therefore get high frame rates with stunning quality. You will also have scope to upgrade the monitor... im running games like far cry maxed out at 1900x1200 i.e. 16xAA and 14xAF

Motherboards... I rate the A8R32-MVP very highly. There are new motherboards due out soon for Xfire including one from DFI. Personally i have had great success with the A8R32-MVP, some others have not.... depends how far you want to overclock i suppose.

My advice is GO GO FOR IT

Im thinking about this board more and more...I shant be overlcocking, or if i ever do decide too it shant be a lot, And after reading a recent review of it im starting to like it even more...Just not liking the price

Alright ill start saving and in a couple months ill have enough to buy the mobo and the x1900xt CF.

Also is there anything i should know about crossfire like how to install it or if i got to install 2 drivers one for each card :confused:

One driver does both (you'll get 4 pop up xp hardware wizards before installation of the drivers/CCC, just cancel all 4 of the wizards and install the software. In CCC you just enable crossfire, it's right at the bottom of the tree in advanced view.

Is CCC any good?

I've been reading over at Guru3D that CCC is a POS and should just install ATI Tool instead.

Just noticed the A8R32-MVP Deluxe is that better still, aint heard anything about it.

For overclocking CCC is not the way, though I have not seen a function in ati tool that actually enables crossfire, have you?

Dunno, I haven't used an ATI card for atleast three years. I'm saving up to buy a new system in a month or two, just figuring out which parts to buy.

Thats the only RD580 chipset board out at the moment, cracking board by all accounts, theres been a few faulty ones, but that might have just been a bad batch.
