Going for a walk

Hello, I am 17 years old and have a huge interest in the outdoors I've been on many trips around england going to place like the lake district I also have good skills in map reading climbing etc. I am currently planning and saving money to go on a solo walk around Britain visting places on the way and climbing up mountains such as ben nevis (been up there before) I am manly doing this for myself But I was thinking about getting sponsored and raising money for charity is this possible?has anyone done something like this before? how would I go about getting sponsored?

As far as im aware (not done it personally but know others who have) you have to get in contact with your chosen charity to represent them. Could be different now but thats how a few friends I know did it, as far as being sponsored its just a case of asking everyone you know and getting them to ask everyone they know.
