Hi folks,

I'm hopefully getting an 8800GTX in the next few days. I was originally thinking about an XFX but them I heard their after sales support is awful. I'm wondering out of the following manufacturers who should I go for?

XFX, BFG, Asus, EVGA or the OCUK Branded card on the website?

Can you guys recommend a good model, I'll be running it on a 24" monitor at 1920*1200 res.

I'm hoping to keep this card for 3 or 4 years so I'm interested in reliability, performance, possible rmas and aftersales service if necessary!

thanks!

Ken

Yeh, if your not going to be changing it for a while (longer than 3 years) then take the longer warranty cards, worth the extra £20/£30 definatley! 2/3 year warranties for me are fine as i know i won't have a graphics card longer than 2 years!

If you're not too worried about having 1 year warranty get the OCUK one, it's far cheaper.

If you want the extra warranty then I'd pay the extra.

ide get the ocuk one its made by fox con even thou t says zogis on the box

great card very fast and overclocks very well

+it come with a 1 year warranty but if u do have probs contact zogis and you will see it has a 3 year warranty

I was considering buying this too but the shorter warranty period is a bit of a worry for me. Following David's post, I checked Zogis's website and their RMA section states that the warranty on all video cards is 2 years.

HOWEVER, their terms and conditions for RMA states that there are no international RMAs. The longer period applies only to North America. Thus OCUK's listing of a 1 year warranty is correct (because that is what you are entitled to on new items as per the Sale of Goods Act).

show me where the SOGA states that please? to my knowledge it says that the product should be free from inherant defect for a "reasonable" expected life of the product.

i.e a gfx card at £300+ should last 3-4 years at LEAST.

and yes it is the retailer NOT the manufacturer who must stump up the replacement.

I meant to say that you are entitled to a minimum of one year but in the case of this Zogis card, just try getting a vendor to replace a £300+ graphics card after that 1 year warranty has expired. (Despite what you think is the reasonable life of the product).
