Hi all, ive just had a thread going on 'High End 24"'.

I have was given a link with a really well spec'd monitor:
*Competitor!*
26", S-IPS, 16ms input lag

I have been using a 24" (pixel size 0.27mm) for 2 years now, does anyone think/have experience of the sharpness being that notibily less on a 26" (Pixel size 0.2865mm)?

I am concidering it since it has a S-IPS panel, 5mS g2g, 5000:1, 400 cd/m².

Thanks for any input.

Have not got both so cannot compare but believe that the argument will be similar to 20"/22" - bigger pixels so not as clear/defined in bigger mon. - running at same res.

Did try once to see if I could see any difference when in PC .... but couldn't - maybe because none of the monitors were set up correctly.:(

But as the difference between the 24"/26" is similar if you could see a 20" alongside a 22" you may get a feel as to wether the bigger pixels are an issue for you.

same here, not much difference, get at least 27'.
Agreed.

However, i suppose if you're going from a 24" TN panel to that 26" SIPS then it would be a bit more worthwhile.

As above though i'd see 27/28" as a minimum size increase with 30" being a definate.

I'd only go from a 24" to a 30", but thats just me.

Then when running games, anything other than native (2560 x 1600) would bad IMHO, as with any monitor, and no gfx cards can even run crysis properly at 1920x1200 IMO....

other than that i would jump at a 30"

In my case i would be going from a P-MVA 24" to a S-IPS 26"

Anyone here running 26/27" LCD's??? what do u think, crisp enough or not?

A mate of mine runs some games @ 1280x800 on his 3007. 4x screen pixels to 1x game pixel means it's nice and sharp.

That said, IMO i think it's more the case that if you have a 24" already then you'd either stick with it or make a much larger jump to a 27"+ screen.

I think StevenG had a 27" Dell and really liked it. Hopefully he'll post here to let you know! :)
