Going from 32bit to 64 bit vista?

Hey,

I bought windows vista 32bit by mistake, even though i have a 64bit system, is there a way to change it without buying a new disc?

As there the same price I guess you could return them and ask if they could swap it, aslong as you haven't opened the pack or they could suspect you've just sold the CDKey and returned the disk.

Unless you can get a refund or exchange from the shop you bought it from, then no sadly.

is there much difference in terms of performance?

I have an E6600 and 2GB RAM

If you bought the retail version of vista then you should be entitled to the 64 bit one anyway.
