going from a 19inch normal lcd to a 24inch widescreen?

19" 5:4 = 14.9" x 11.9"
24" 16:10 = 20.4" x 12.7"

So 0.8" bigger. Can't do basic trig?! :p

I have no idea how you worked that out but thanks :D

So I'll be wasting my money if im not even getting a inch bigger vertically?? Cos most games dont support widescreen yet. I would rather have the black bars left and right of the screen so its 4:3 or what ever you said, then make people look 10stone heavier then they are so it fills the screen.

4,3 and 16:8 is tv format...... I thought it was the same for monitors??

Ok what about going to a 30+ inch and using it as my tv aswell.. I dont have to use the native resolution for games cos my viewsonic is great for non native resolutions with games... what monitior would you guys recommend, are these any good connected to a pc? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_26___LCD_TV_Monitors_575.html

Or I could get a good qualty freeview card and a Dell Ultrasharp 3007WFP 30" Widescreen LCD Monitor

What do you think??

It would be quite something playing games on a 30inch monitor tho... but you guy dont think I should go down that road?

So wont it matter what tv card I buy, will the quality still be the same as a cheap card?

Its so tempting

The one on the left is the 24inch

In this review it says that the picture quality from the "Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT freeview card" was spot on, easily matching the picture we received on our TV, while sound through our two-channel speakers was rich and undistorted.
