Going from a GTX 670 OC to a GTX 770 OC

Hi,

My Asus GTX 670 DirectCU II, which I have had over a year failed, so I sent it back. They can't replace it so they are giving me a refund. I was just thinking of getting the latest version as a replacement -> Asus GeForce GTX 770 DirectCU OC 2048MB (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-307-AS&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1750)

Is this a sensible idea?

Quite nice to get a free update, even if there is probably not much of a difference in performance.

It would be a upgrade but it might be worth you looking at the r280x series now there out.

If i was looking at a card now it would have to be this. It's a beast of a card, is more powerful than any 770 (it's not far behind a 780), has a extra 1Gb of memory and is £50 cheaper.

Thanks you two. I will have a closer look at that card. Having a quick look at the reviews it does look good. The only thing is that I have had problems with ATI cards before, but maybe I should give them a second chance....

I did that and went 560 ti 448 > AMD 7850 (AGGGH) > ASUS GTX 670 same card you may have had but it is the faster 2gb version.
I always seem to have problems with AMD cards. Personal taste dont think I will ever buy AMD again.
I have same issues with ASUS and MSI motherboards. Bad experience every time I stray away from Gigabyte.
The Gods of Hardware must be telling me something everytime I stray to what other people prefer.
