I’ve got a Kindle Paperwhite which I use a lot and love but I don’t love the touchscreen so use a stylus to avoid getting fingerprint/grease marks on the display.

I see the Kindle Oasis has page turn buttons, just like my original Kindle Keyboard.

Has anyone gone from the Kindle Paperwhite to the Kindle Oasis? What do you think of the Oasis compared to the Paperwhite? Is it an upgrade worth making?

Thanks to all for the replies, no I don't have especially greasy or dirty fingers but I notice even the slightest mark on a screen. After a week or so of owning the Paperwhite, I could see marks at the point I was tapping the screen and bought myself a stylus which I've used ever since.

Slightly tangential but was the upgrade from Kindle Keyboard material? I have one that is about.....god....very old now. And I'm hoping to start reading a lot more again. I have never used any other Kindle product.
The only reason I bought a new Kindle was because the navigation pad stopped working, I think it was the centre button, the most important of the lot. I stripped it down, gave it all a good clean but it was still the same. My Kindle Keyboard is also the 3G version so it was dead handy.

Mind you, I really like the light on the paperwhite, it just makes it so much more convenient than having to rely on a decent light source.

Battery life on the oasis is **** poor compared to the paperwhite i found.
How poor? I normally use mine for 30-60 minutes in bed most evenings and it lasts for weeks.

It depends on how old your Paperwhite is?
I bought it on 11th April 2020. It's not quite the current model but I think it's the previous one. "10th Generation WiFi waterproof" so not the cheapest base model.

I like the idea of the backlit one but really need a warm temp. screen for it to work.
The new ones have a 'warmth adjustment' which also attracts me to the Oasis. I use the Kindle app on my phone and always have it set to the lighter brown background rather than white.

Love my Oasis; I upgraded from a Paperwhite mainly as I missed the physical buttons for switching pages; wouldn't be without it now even if it was an expensive upgrade!
Bingo! Exactly what I want to do and for exactly the same reason.

As an update to this, I recently bought the Oasis when the price was dropped at Amazon and I'm very happy with it. I sold my Kindle Paperwhite to a friend which helped offset the cost a little.

It was a good call, thanks all for the replies.
