Going From my BF3 thread

okay so we established my laptop doesnt cut it for BF3 and any other game with similar demands(eg crysis 2 not 1), so if i went by that 'can you run it' site and brought from what they have down as a spec for BF3, then what sort of performance would it have for BF3?

The Spec list is as followed:

Core2Duo 2.4ghz or Athlon x2 2.7ghz or Quad Core

2gb or 4gb or more Ram

vista 32bit or win7 64bit

Radeon 3000, 4000, 5000 or 6000/ HD3870 or higher(DX10.1)

Geforce 8, 9, 200, 300, 400 or 500 series/ 8800gt or higher(DX10.0)

DX 11 GTX 560 or Radeon HD6950

added to a suitable MB ofcourse..

i dont know what the prices are of any of these new or used, so no budget at this moment in time..
 
well upto 300 i had as its a time consuming thing with bit here and there, that was for a decent setup for the missus and her not so demanding use of programmes, but depending on how much those components go used then probably abit more than 300(say 400 max), dont want to spend too much as it be more for her than me, i just want to be able to sneak BF3 on it if i choose to and be able to play it on decent/good settings.

the missus had a ideq N1 at the moment with a mobile sempron 3300+ and 8500GT GPU, i cant remember what Athlon is compatible, but i dont think she can get better GPU as she has over 1gb ram and enough HDD space if i can test BF3 on it.
 
just to get an idea on doing a build on the really cheap, would any if these GPU's work with the Mobo Combo??

I know theres a few Cards to look at, but i wanted to get an idea what would be compatible with one of them Mobo Combos if i went down that route for quick and simple..

with that type of board i could use the 1.25gb ram from her N1 as they both use pc3200(id sell the N1 mind if cant use the case, but whack in some decent ram) to get the ball rolling, got couple HDD can use, so would then just need a PSU and new OS, ive got an old case i could custom, so needen spend there..

so could spend less than 100 and have a good setup even if BF3 cant be played or only on decent settings ;)

so you guys would know what im talking about if i just told you the details of the parts even ones part of a mobo combo kit that are used items?

i understand rules, but i couldnt very well just explain the combo really
