Hey guys I am thinking of going from 2x1080SLI to 1x1080Ti

But I am abit of a noob... The wires I use at the moment for SLI are like this:

so they link off each other... If I remove a GPU il have 2 connectors just hanging about and I dont want that...

If I get a new single GPU will it come with the correct wires just for 1 card? so I unplug SLI power cables and then plug in new single GPU power cables and thats it?

Thank you

So you're a self declared noob, so I just thought I'd state the obvious which is don't start pulling cables out while the system is powered on, so turn it off, then figure out where that cable from your current gpus goes. Does it go straight back to the psu?
After following the cables yes they connect straght into the PSU... but they are very long and a lot longer than any cables I have... If I was to get a new GPU will it come with a cable long enough? or do I have to bridge it?

You won't get any long cables with a gpu, they are bespoke to your psu. The easiest thing is to remove your current gpus and use the last pair of connectors on the long cable to your new gpu, then tuck the spare pair away lower down. They may still be a little visible, but in practice I don't think they'll bother you.
is it safe to have extra unused wires hanging out? not been used?
Thank you
