Hey guys,
I've always said to my self I would do my bike test but I never got round to doing it or having the money to do so. I've been on the road now for 2 years coming up in July. I currently ride an Aprilia Rx 50 just to get me to college and to work, so I don't have to ask parents and take the annoying transport that Uk offer!
I'm 18 and been riding since I was 16, and I feel like I have learn't a lot; anticipating other drivers, keeping safe and other things like that, and now I am in the position of going for my A2 licence
I've already done my cbt, well its not due for renewal yet, and I have my theory booked for the 26th of this march. Just thought I would share with you bikers what I want to achieve and would like some support.
I've rang up my local bike training place and have quoted me "£25 an hour or £480 for a 3/4 day course which includes training and test fee's for Mod1 and Mod2". I've been thinking on which to do and I don't think I would need to spend all that much on the training course would I? Wouldn't it be best just to get my theory out of the way, have lessons to get Mod1 done, then the same to get Mod2 done? I can't see me needing load's of training as I've been riding for nearly 2 years and rode a Honda CG 125 for my 17th birthday as parents booked me a lesson. What do you guys think?
When I've done insurance quotes, would a restricted bike licence (A2) be classed as a "Full Licence" as A2 or restricted licence doesn't come up?
Last question guys, what type of bike should I be looking at? I am 6ft 2 and around 14 stone. I'm very interested in the Yamaha's FZS 600's and the Yamaha's Thundercat. The FZS shares the same engine but I do prefer the look of the Thundercat as it looks more sporty. I do like the idea of the FZS as a naked bike but I know I would get the FZS and kick my self about it and should have gone for the Thundercat. Obviously, the bike will be restricted as its needed to be by law and to gain experience!
