Going out on your own...ever done it?

And I don't mean going out on your own and meeting people somewhere, I mean going out at night and not knowing anyone.
Im wondering this because there is a club night and gig I really want to go to, the club night is EBM, electro-industrial, industrial, goth, etc and the gig is Nachtmahr ( similar kind of music as club night). But the only problem is that I don't know anyone that can make it/anyone that likes that sort of music aha

I always go out with a few friends so was just curious of how people view it/if they do it.

I think im just going to go out and hope to meet some ramdomers/drunkards

not done it myself, probably should sometime, but have other friends who went to the pub by herself, and being a girl she got hit on and thus ended the solitary night at the pub (didn't go further than the pub) but still enjoyed a night out by herself initially

Easier for girls, they get hit on by others .... guys have to do the actual first approaches generally

I have when I was living in Glasgow. Met loads of people in various bars, swapped plenty of stories and ended up in a drinking contest with a squadie and a naval officer once.

I'm just going to go it will be a good night either way and its not as if i'm socially retarded (sorry if thats not pc :rolleyes:

) so i should be able to get chatting to a few people...especially if im drunk

He'd bought 2 drinks so as to give the staff the impression of not drinking alone.

if i had no available friends, id ask randome people on forums like here or the lulz (makes thread when my usual partying mates go to uni in a week xD) also id just go by myself your bound to meet some really drunk girl and just hang around with her all night.

I went to a festival (Technically) on my own, Godskitchen Global gathering back in 2001, went on a coach full of people I didnt know (as at the time I couldnt drive), was a member of a well known clubbing website forums and arranged to meet ppl there that I have never met before, became good friends with them, didnt meet them till about 10pm but from the time it started i was pretty much just doing what normal ravers do, chat **** to everyone and enjoy the music

Iv been raving since I was 17, met so many good people through going to raves some of which are becoming stars in the Hard dance scene (producing & dj'ing).

If it were raving I would do it as you know everyone is there for the same reason, the music, the dj's they are on the same level as you (in many ways

) and you get on with everyone.
