i am at my fsb limit of my mother board when overclocking my cpu. will i be able to go over the 1333 fsb limit of my mother board or will it become unstable? if so dose this mean i will need a upgrade if i want to continue to overclock my cpu.
thanks for any input :)

yeah its cool to go over the fsb limit !! my board has a 1333 limit but today i was at 1780 with it at 4ghz... just keep upping the fsb and testing until you hit a wall and then you will have to up the voltage as said above...just as long as the temps are ok..

got to a point where my cpu clock speed will automatically unclock itself when i run p95 i am guessing this is one of the safety features to protect the cpu against temps.
would this mean i need to upgrade the cpu or the cooler to gain a better speed?
running a e4600 (2.4ghz stock) at 2.965 ghz and i cant put it up anymore not even the slightest without it automatically unclocking itself on p95 i am running at 1.53v

got to a point where when i put my fsb up even by 1 my system crashes... but yet it is total stable on p95 and games. is there any way i can brake this barrier even even i put the voltage to 1.62 it still dose the same

Is that cpu volts? If so back it down. That's way too much. If it's NB volts it's also too much. I have a E4300 that does 3.4Ghz on 1.4v so you are pumping far too much into it. Are you adjusting the memory speed as you increase the fsb? They are linked and as you increase the fsb you need to change the memory divider, sometimes called FSB to NB strap and change the DRAM Frequency. You should be keeping your ram at or below it's stock speed.

List your spec so we can see what you have.

sorry for the late reply been busy.

mother board = asus p5n32-e sli
cpu = LGA775 Allendale" 2.40GHz (800FSB)
gpu = 8800 gtx oc2 by bfg
ram = 4gb (4X1gb) ddr2 pc6400 at 800mhz
cpu fan = Zalman CNPS9700-N
power supply = 780w mod X stream
the sound card came with the board

hope you guys can find the problem i think it may be the ram or the motherboard.

i dont really know how to adjust the ram speed properly altho i have changed the fsb to ram ratio or something in the bois that has seemed to allow me to clock it up abit much but hit another barrier was at 2.7ghz without changing the ratio now at 2.965ghz and cant up it one more.
