Does anybody ever get a urge to buy a bit of a retro hot hatch 80's classic

I do not know why but I feel like im going to buy a Ford Xr2 very soon as a weekend toy over my Nissan Nivara company vehicle.

Do you have any retro cars forum?

Yes. See car in my sig (from the 90s though). The most fun car I've ever owned and the one that has got most attention... And cost almost nothing.

Suroof open on a summers evening, actually driving the car rather than feeling like a passenger with a steering wheel.

Seeing the typical 80's hothatches just rise and rise in terms of price, I fancy just getting something non descript from the 80s like a Datsun SSS or a Silvia.

Im forever on Retro rides looking and dreaming spending my hardearned on some poxy bit of junk, simply because im bored with modern cars.

I had a Silvia with the 1.8 turbo engine.

It was ace.

Just sold my MK2 Golf after owning it for 3-years. It was great, used almost daily and never missed a beat (was running bike carbs amongst other things), and I got back more that it owed me when I sold it too.

It's funny, even retro Vauxhalls look kinda cool now. There's a fantastically chavvy Astra GTE round the corner from me with a Burburry interior that I like way more than any current Vauxhall (e.g. I like it).

There's also a very nice Peugeot 105 GTI in p nice nick. They're got a weird spoiler on it but other than that, very cool.

What are you replacing it with? Did like your Golf, show cage aside ;), you've sure had some interesting motors! :)

Yes, I just traded my motorbike (see sig) for a mk2 Astra GTE for over the winter. Its in fairly good nick too, so should get my money back come summer time.

Nothing really, my Land Rover is my current 'toy'. I might get something else next year but I found I just wasn't using the Golf properly any more so decided to let someone else enjoy it and free up a little cash too.
