Has anyone ever been to a gig on their own.

Am looking to go to the Metallica gig on the 1st august in dublin. But none of my mates are going and my girl isnt into that type of music.,

Would it be really sad to go on my own.

Has anyone went to a gig on their own and did they enjoy it?

When I went to see Oasis live I was jumping and singing with a group of guys I didnt know lol, its the whole experience, everyones there for fun! Good times. Ahhh, wish I was still there :(

I've been to plenty of gigs on my own. Can be lonely while you're waiting for the bands to get on but superb once it's all happening.

It lends a different dynamic to gigs for me. If I've invited people I keep checking to see if they're enjoying themselves. If it's just me I focus on the music and the performance.

I'd say the performances I remember with the most affection are ones I attended alone.

I haven't done it myself yet, but I would and you shouldn't feel bad about it. Gigs are hardly the most social affairs and you can always chat to other people in the crowd.

I went to see ACDC on my own, arrived THREE HOURS before anything happened so just pondered the meaning on the universe for a long while. Once they came on I was in the middle of the floor having a blast. A++ would do again

To be honest at some gigs I've been too half the time you've too busy enjoying the gig you completely forget about your mates, such as I've seen Orbital twice - once by myself, once with friends and really the only difference with the friends was we had a pint before we went in and it's someone to talk too on the way there and going home - but in the gig everyone was too busy jumping around :)

Just take an mp3 player with some Metallica tunes on for going home and going there, get you in the mood for seeing them and winding down when going home.

I’ve been to a few gigs by myself and had a great time :) Go for it.

Or you could always look up some fan forums for group meets and meet up with them? just a thought.

i like going to gig by my self, don't have to worried about anyone that way + i am very outgoing so usually meet new people
