Hello people.

Has anyone ever been to antartica?

after again burying myself in matt's diary and reading his 2 articles on the antartica, just thinking it sounds like such a cool (ba-dum-dum-tsch) and awsome place to go!

Was wondering if anyone else had ever gone?
or was planning to go?

Thanks all :)

You wont get to do very much but walk around the edges there because they're very strict on who is allowed to do anything there. Your best bet to see the place was if you were a scientist (maybe my degree will come in handy one day :o).

Just remember if you do go, don't listen to any of the jokes those penguins tell you, they're rubbish.

Na i merely wanna go to say i've been there, and to take pictures, on Matt's diary the pictures he's taken of the place are amazing!

I think they do tours now. Looking at £3000+ and you stay on a ship.

Personally I would rather go to Alaska/Northern Canada.

Anywhoo, is it not legal to get your aeroplane freind if you've got one to do a mini trip there? I mean, no one own's the place do they?

There are very few places you can fly from, and only certain planes can land and make the journey (i'm pretty sure they're all prop planes). I think they take off from Chile. On a boat you can leave from South Africa or New Zealand, but again these are generally taking scientists, not tourists.
