Yeah, I think it should work. Why do you need 4 290X though? Lol
Sorry, I might be being stupid but am going to ask
Since the 295x2 is two 290x chips, Could I buy a 290x card to run along with my 295x2 in crossfire or is that impossible? Would I have to get another 295x2 to run with crossfire?
Cheers.
Isn't the 295X2 enough for you?![]()
That will work fine. Actually, you could also pair it with a 290P. You could even add two 290P/X cards if desired, assuming your motherboard, psu and case are capable.
As I said above, I still get HUGE drops in FPS playing any 4K game. Sure a lot of them don't support crossfire meaning the 295x2 is a useless 290x card but the few games that do support crossfire still I would say need a extra 290x if you wanna play on ultra![]()
Ah I must have missed the part about 4K. Yeah with 4K you need all the performance you can get. Although tbh I would probably be tempted just to run the single dual GPU 295x2 and drop a couple of settings to get playable fps. Save yourself some money. Then get two Pirate Islands GPU's next year..
4?
I only wanted another one, I want to run a 295x2 and a 290x in crossfire.
And why? I run a 4k display and want 60fps in BF4 on ultra, to do this I expect I still need another 290x. I get drops to around 40 FPS at times.
