I've done some homework, and believe I have gathered the info I need to start. It seems less complicated than I thought it would be. I've been advised to basically increase the multiplier, and gradually increase vcore once the system becomes unstable.

Like starting with going to x16 and no vcore increase, and if it becomes unstable, increase to 1.4v, etc. Sound about right? Up to a 1.55v is apparently safe?

My main question is, I'm currently at stock 3.1Ghz on my phenom 550BE, no unlocked cores as they can't be unlocked. It's apparently possible to get to, and I quote "the 550 in 2 core mode can do between 3.9 and 4ghz.. in quad most of them top out around 3.8-3.9ghz.."

At what point of speed increase am I likely to notice a real difference in speed. Do I need to achieve, say 3.5Ghz to make it worthwhile?
