Going to China to learn Chinese?

A friend and I are considering going to China this summer for a crash course in Chinese. No idea about anything tbh. Where to go? What to see? How expensive something like this would be. Anyone done anything like this before?

It's kinda like learning a martial art by starting on Bruce Lee?

I'd suggest learning some chinese at least the basics before you go.

now that you mention it a friend of mine said something similar to this, she is going to take a 2 week intensive course in mandarin however she does have previous knowledge of mandarin, how much it would help, i don't know, unless you're the british rainman (who learnt something like icelandic in one week), i think you'll have a hard time doing so.
