Going to do a skydive next week, can anyone lend me a gopro?

If I get mine back in time, sure!

I'll let you know.

You break it, you buy it...

(I realise this may not be applicable if the Skydive goes horrifically wrong resulting in said go pro breaking :p)

Thank you very much Greg that's a very kind of you, however I have just ordered the Hero 4 black.

Anyone know of any accessories I'll need for the skydive?

Really depends how you want to record it.

Head or body straps will probably just get in the way so you're probably going have to mount it to a helmet (if its a hard one, if not I'm not sure the best way.)

Even then you'll have to either use a sticky connector or a suction cup adapter to get it to stick.

Might be worth asking at the center and seeing what kit you'll be using and what they recommend if anything for using a gopro because there will be people there that use them, and chances are they'll over it as a package :)

get a sj4000 of the auction sites other than audio which free falling wont matter its the equal of go pro video

don't get sj5000 just the 4000 the wifi version is ok but cheap under £40 for standard

check with the sky dive place that they will allow it.

A lot of places won't allow it as they will try and flog you their copy of the dive at massively inflated cost!

I had that issue recently with a car experience day. Wanted to take my go pro with me but their t&c's forbid any filming other than the actual place themselves.

Yeah you almost certainly won't be allowed to take it. Nowhere I've skydived have, their reasoning being that they can't guarantee it is secured to you and they are ultimately responsible if it falls to the ground and kills someone. You usually get a locker that you have to leave all your personal possessions inside. That and the fact they will try and flog you an extortionate picture/video package a the end of the jump anyway...

Yep, no GOPRos allowed by standard, not just they want to sell their video services but also a security and liability issues. No way will you be allowed to attach it to their helmets for starters.

Anyway, a gopro attached to you will be pretty boring, getting yourself filmed by someone else would be much more interesting.

My tip for skydiving is just to try and enjoy every second of it while you can, because you get like 10 seconds (at least that is what it feels liek), before the chute is pulled. that being said, I've found the parchuting to be far more enjoyable anyway.
