First thing to say here is that I hate controllers. I am clumsy with them, but most of all they tend to aggravate my joints something rotten. I have some hyper-mobility in my fingers, which can cause pain with anything requiring gripping/pinching.

I have used an Xbox 360 controller a bit, but the last time I had a two hour session with one (even though it was with a slow-paced game) my hands ached for days.

Even apart from that, I am at a loss as to how you're supposed to use the sticks and buttons at the same time without weird hand contortions and pressing buttons with the inside of a kuckle or the edge of a digit.

The thing is, so many games now seem to all but demand you use a controller. I can't go on with Yakuza 0, for instance, without one.

Do any controller connoisseurs have any recommendations for the most erogonomically comfortable ones? I'm thinking one that allows a relaxed grip and doesn't need the thumbs to stretch too much. Preferably with good compatablity.

Cheers, guys. So it looks like I need Xbox compatabilty for the best chance of actually getting things to work without faff.

I was thinking I might need some sort of modified version from another manufacturer, rather like the Razer one. But... just looking at the thumb-stretch needed on that one makes my joints ache! I really thing I'm after something that allows a soft, neutral position for the thumbs, almost where they'd fall at rest.

Last game I played with a controller was Persona 4, so the controller was just resting in my hands for long periods, and even then just two hours of playing played havoc with my joints. :(
