going to london thurs to sunday so im in need of some nice places to eat!

am looking for a nice steak place and maybe an american bbq type.

any suggestions for ?

Hawksmoor for Steak.

Bodeans for smoked meats/ribs.

Meat liqour or Patty & Bun for Burgers and Wings (More Meat Liquor for wings, more P&B for burgers)
 
Get to Pitt cue co if you can, it gets very busy and it's only small but it's a lot better than bodeans. It is open Sunday lunch nowadays and it's usually quiet then, although hawksmoor do an amazing Sunday roast

Second party & bun, but I'd rate their wings and burgers higher than anywhere else!

Bone daddies is excellent for rich ramen

Koya is good for udon noodles & their specials are great

Bubbledogs might sound daft but the hot dogs are good and they have a superb champagne list that's v reasonable

If you want something higher end - Hedone in chiswick does a very good value lunch and is one of my top 3 restaurants in London.
 
Hawksmoor is excellent but very expensive expect £50 a plate for steak if you include sides not including other courses and booze. Their IPA is awesome.

Pit q we tried but couldn't get in the queue was massive but we found an excellent Indian instead, Masala not tasted anything like it fantastic.

@venue is great and good value

Gauchos is good

Browns is good
 
I'd second Hawksmoor for steak, could always look at Goodman too. Garufin is good too and The Jugged Hare in Barbican.

Definitely Pitt Cue over Bodeans. Also Dukes Brew and Cue for BBQ.

Clock Jack Oven for decent rotisserie chicken.

Pitt Cue Co +1, absolutely orgasmic pulled pork. Problem is getting a table/being there at the right time.
Meat Liquor garbage plates are amazing.
The Big Easy is also a great place, 1.25lb Lobster, 28 day aged rump steak and a beer or margherita for £19, cant really go wrong!
 
I chum off Hawksmoor, been down to London twice now in about half a year and went both times.
The Cornflake milkshake is superb ;)
 
Avoid Bodeans. It's cheap, you get lots to eat but it's crap quality. It really saddens me to say it as a previous fan but over the last 8months they've got really bad. I can't just allow people to keep recommending a bad place to eat which it now is.

Hawksmoor is also terribly overrated for what you get. It has a dreadful wine list too.

Pitt cue is so overrated.

Meat liquer is epic. Honest burger is tiny. Kia uaina burger (some name like that) is awesome

Hix in soho for steak is excellent as is Goodmans. I rate Hawksmoor below both of those.
 
Tried Bodeans Tower Hill today to try it out.

Ribs - These were actually pretty decent, a good amount of flavour.
Pulled Pork - Was ok, but not fantastic and was slightly cold.
1/4 Chicken - Breast Meat, was the driest chicken I have ever eaten.
Fries - Found them a bit over seasoned.
BBQ Sauce - Wasn't keen, the Chipotle was better.

My friend really enjoyed his burger, which was huge.

They also add 12.5% service charge to the bill, which always pees me off. I am happy to tip, but I hate it just being added. I am sure they do it in the hope people won't spot it and then tip again on top.
 
Hawksmoor and Goodmans are good steak places.

A good American BBQ type restaurant is Red Dog Saloon, been there a few times and really enjoyed it. Nice food and a nice place also.

There is no way that bodeans is better than pitt cue.

Interesting. As mentioned, Bodean's is well below the quality of Pitt Cue. I've not been to Meat Liquor but having a look at the menu, I can't see pulled pork, short ribs or anything specifically BBQ related, so it's not somewhere I'd ever consider going if I was after BBQ food.
 
Went to "Relais de Venise L’Entrecôte" in Marylebone last week and the steak was awesome - £21 gets you a salad starter followed by steak however you want it with skinny fries!

Best part is you finish the first round of steak & chips and then they bring round another serving :D mmm
 
Random bump but I was down in London for work on Thurs/Fri and my mate who lives down there took me to MeatLiquor and all I can say is wow, that was a good burger! I will be going back when I'm next down but also going to try and work my way through some of the other burger joints down there.

I've been here as well which was quite nice http://www.reddogsaloon.co.uk/ but I ruined my burger by trying the hotwing challenge :(
