Hey people of ocukers I'm having my first ever job interview for a junior web design and marketing career, because I’ve never been interviewed at this type of career before can somebody please let me know what to expect? Some pointers will be good as well :)

Also, I was told that the interview will entail of a short proficiency test, could somebody explain to me what this is and what it may consist of.

I'd be grateful for any advice as I’ve been waiting for this and want to make a good impression

thanks!

Go smart (shirt, tie, shoes as I know you dont have a suit, does mine fit? try it on), go with a positive attitude, take your CV with you, make sure your interview consists of positive things rather than spending too much time on the negative.

If he comes back with something negative, try and play it round and turn it in to a positive.

Tell him about the sites you have done as a freelance web developer on the side for a few businesses (Springclean/Cove Interiors). Show him how creative you are not only with coding, but with things like photo-shop etc.

Think about what your going to say, dont rush it, take your time and let it come out, it will flow and you will naturally adjust.

You want to get across the message that you are really egar (sp?) and ready to crack on with things.

A proficiency test is a short test (usually 8-10 questions maybe) could be general test like English or Maths, or it could be a test based on the job role you are doing, just so they can see on paper if you know a few things.

Everything that DJMK4 says. And:

For my junior marketing role I took in renders of their logo which I had redrawn from their website. I'd also put it into scenes. Preparation of this kind shows so many good qualities and really takes the pressure off for an interview.

Got the job.

Funny you should say this because i thought exactly the same and started brain storming a few ideas :)
