Going to NYC

I already was called to the side every time I went as a child, and that was just for the name (didn't go to Pakistan until my late 20s). Fully expecting rubber gloves at this rate.

I wouldn't worry, like I said my passport is literally cover to cover full of suspect stamps. Thought as I also said I'm white so who knows.

On the contrary ... getting around in any kind of car/taxi/uber has always been very slow and expensive compared to the subway or just walking for me.

One of my work colleagues has just come back from NYC.

Took him to something like 2 hours to get through Immigration (once he'd got to the front of the queue) - his surname is Mohammad...

i used uber too, me and the wife registered accounts so we got $15 of your first ride then another $10 if you recommend someone :)

plus you dont have to tip if you dont want to.

My wife has mobility problems and NYC was pretty poor for a modern American city when it comes to access with disabilities.

But it was still an awesome place to visit and we can't wait to go back :D

We just have to plan a bit better and avoid the subway. ;)

I did the ESB on a whim....never again got ripped off and spent ages queueing.

Bump, any more tips? Me and the girlfriend want to take her mum to meet her son who has been traveling southern America. It will be in the middle of February, the budget won't be massive for accommodation, so any tips for a cheaper area with good access?
