going to receive a s3200 soon need a lens

iv orderd a nikon d3200 which comes with a 18-55mm lens

but i need a lens with a bit more zoom ability as when i go to car shows and such the track is more often not very close to where i can stand

has anyone got any suggestions? must be under £300 under £250 if possible

so far ive found this Nikon lens for under £250

I've just picked up a used 55-200 f4-5.6 from eBay for my D3100. On a crop body such as the 3100/3200, its the equivalent to 300mm anyway.

But the 300 becomes a 450mm equivalent so that argument doesn't really hold up.

OP: Avoid the 55-300 as it's soft as anything, better to get a 70-300 lens like the Tamron 70-300 VC as they have much better image quality as well as image stabilisation.

Cheap: Sigma 70-300 APO
Midrange: Tamron 70-300 VC
Expensive: Nikon 70-300 VR
