Going to try and 3D print a shroud for my 970 to help with temps in an ITX case...

So its finally happened. After many happy months with build in my current sig, I have (unfortunately) come into a bit of spare cash and decided to upgrade my rig.

It's actually a little stupid, because I barely have enough time to game, and already enjoy the performance I get already... oh well. This is why we are on these forums right?

So on its way are an EVGA 550W GS PSU (small size, semi passive I believe), a z87 mobo, a 250GB SSD as a dedicated steam drive and now all I need to do is get a 4690k and I'll be all set.

Here is the interesting part though. I want to see if I can help cool my 970 a bit more by designing a 3D printed shroud that will help increase the card to pull cool air in from outside. I have a printer at home thats more suited to PLA, which has a lower melting temp. So I will just use it to confirm the design, then send the file off to someone who prints ABS and get it made....

Will be really interesting to see what happens, so watch this space! Pics up shortly.

My printer can print in PLA and ABS, if you need it printed at some point? I've actually not print in ABS yet so will have to give it a go.

James.
