hi all i have a thread in here somewhere that i started months ago on trying to OC with the Mobo which i now know isnt good for quads when OC.
im going to give it a shot again and try and overclock to 3GHZ.

my question is in the bios under CPU config do i disable or enable all the CPU options? like EIST, C1E, CPU internal thermal control,Execute Disable Bit,Speed Step ,Hyper Threading Technology etc

You havent said what mobo lol, but i disable them all.

Hi,

I have the ABIT version.. my Asus was RMA'd following a bad flash...

I'm now running a Q6600. At stock volts it was a little unstable so I simply set the memory fsb to 800 and the CPU fsb to 1333 with the vcore at +100mv

It may run with less but has been rock solid ever since.

I left all the EIST etc enabled

I leave all those on. You can disable the first two and speedstep while you sort out your clock but it will not hurt to re-enable them after.
