Hi all, I am still new to the world of pc gaming and over the last year have managed to build up my pc. However I now want to upgrade to win 8.1 and have no idea what will happen. Will I lose all my games etc installed on my hard drive? Also what about my recent Kaspersky2014 upgrade, will I lose the programme as it was a download? I would appreciate any help thanks.

Well, it's a supported upgrade path, the simplest way to check what software might need reinstalling is to run the Upgrade Assistant - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=261871
You'll probably find that some things need a reinstall, some might not be compatible (although that's unlikely), and most will just happily stay as they are and continue to work in Windows 8.1

Thanks I will do that. If I had to re download steam and origin will I have to buy games again or will they just be registered to my account and downloable again? Cheers.
