Taking my first step into liquid cooling tomorrow/ the weekend. Taking baby steps though and going the AIO route....
So far, Have ordered:
- 1x Corsair n780 bracket.
After loads of research this sounds the best bracket solution hands down as it cools the VRMs. It's only just come out/ has been unavailable and could only find at one UK competitor! Why does ocuk not stock this?
- 1x Corsair h55 AIO cooler
- Some TIM cleaner, new thermal compound just in case (needed some anyway)
- a set of mini Torx screwdriver things
Anything I've missed ???
I'm just trying this out on the one 780Ti first (I run 2 reference ones in SLI). The top card gets about 7 degrees hotter than the bottom and throttles, so will see how it goes.
My reasoning for this is firstly just wanting to try an AIO, and secondly to delay me buying a 980Ti or 2!
I figure I can get way more life out of my 780Tis in SLI though and if AIO cooling the first one goes well, I'll do the second and clock the fun out of them.
And the biggie is, in the nearish future if I do go 980Ti, corsair are about to release an n980 bracket that will allow me to fit the h55(s) to. I was considering the evga AIO hybrid, abut the ref 980Ti's are about £150 cheaper!
Sound like a reasonable plan?
