I'm going to be building a new PC in a month or 2 and I'm currently looking at monitors.
At the moment I'm using a 34" ultra wide and wanting to go bigger. Which LG monitor would you go for, the 38" 3840x1600 144hz or the 40" 5120x2160 72hz? They are basically the same price.
 
I have heard good things about the LG 38'. It got released a few years ago now though. I guess it depends on what the main use of the monitor will be

No it was the 144hz one. It's also available elsewhere right for less.

I was looking at the 240hz one. I've decided against it though. It's size is just too big for my needs. Going to wait for a 38" oled with a proper resolution.

If I was putting down £700 on a monitor right now that would be the one.

Gorgeous OLED screen, ambilight is fantastic too imo for that added fun/immersion.

Smart looking bit of kit at that.
